Just as the the title states, I'm looking for the best cpu cooler I can get for around $60 or cheaper.

I am currently looking at these two.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103055
Coolermaster V8: Seems like everyone's talking about this one.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835106123
Thermaltake SpinQ Performance: I saw this CPU cooler running on many very high end, $2,000-$3,000 computers at quakecon.
Quakecon= Big computer convention.

The coolermaster is looking like probably the best bet right now, and the Termaltake SpinQ just looks awsome, haha. But once again, it's all about which cpu cooler cools the best.

I will be running a AMD Phenom ll X3 Processor. It's the 95watt black design, so I plan on overclocking as much as possible!
I have the Antec 900 case, so the size of the cooler shouldn't be a problem.
Please feel free to look up the two cpu coolers I've listed and give your opinions on them, and please give any recommendation on cpu coolers other than these two.

The best cooler for around $60 is what I'm looking for. Thanks.

V8= Mostly hype and not good performance for the money.

spin q is for looks.

If you are planning on spending all of the $70 that you have, i would go for a thermalright ulra 120 extreme

If you are looking for the best bang for the buck get a sunbeam core contact freezer. It will cool within a 3 degrees of the ultra 120 and is about 1/3 of the price.

You were at quakecon? I was there to. Did you see vince and them at the AMD booth overclocking with ln2 and lhe?

Yeah I did! I'm looking up the cooler you mentioned now. That was pretty awesome. I was about 3 foot away from him doing it in the very front, haha. Do you know what was the highest clock he got it to? I left when it was about 5.5Ghz

Overclocked, overshocked, have u had any experience with the coolermaster Hyper 212, or heard anything about it? How does it compare to the sunbeam core contact freezer?

And also anyone else, please feel free to give your thoughts/opinions and post other coolers u think might be better.

All three! Haha, my friend won a GeForce GTX 260, so I'm pretty much rebuilding my system. Bought 4Gb of Kingston Hyperx 1066 ram, and the new processor I mentioned earlier. I download the AMD Overdrive ( which they were talking about at Quakecon) and it is really a very nice program. Lots of information, and easy overclocking.

"AMD X3 720 clocked at 3.6GHz: idle @ 27c & mid 50c on 2 hours of OCCT stress test."
One reviewer said this about the r Hyper 212. I like that. 55 at 3.6 under stress test, means you could probably push up to 3.8 making it get to about 60c, which is really the most I think is safe to run a processor at.

Yeah, chew designed overdrive. So its gotat be tight. LOL

Mostly they were just swrewing around at quakecon. Like playing games at 6ghz and stuff like that.

Vince and chew however worked all weekend finding the right cpu to bench with. Aaron(the guy with the clear ln2 pot) was just having fun with the 300 litrs of ln2 they got.

Vince and shamino are going to an event with evga tomarrow and plan on setting some new reccords with the i7.

Go to www.frostytech.com for the reviews on coolers. the Core contact freezer is number two. Number one is the Ultra 120.

It's looking like the Core Contact Freezer is being the best performance for the money. According to frosttech, it even beats our the v8 for less than half the price after the rebate. It does say the Ultra 120 cools better, but for $70.. $25 after rebate vs. $70. I think I'm gonna go with the $25 one haha.

Did you get your 3.8Ghz clock with the Core Contact, or the OCZ Vanquisher? If you did not use the Core Contact would you say the OCZ Vanquisher is better than the Core Contact, because it is actually cheaper?

Also, does anyone else have opinions on the Core Contact cpu cooler vs. the Coolermaster Hyper 212? Both seem like very good deals, but as mentioned earlier, people had outstanding results from the Hyper 212.

More personal results such as this, are really nice. Keep em coming guys :p Still leaning towards that core contact cooler though..
