My gaming system has an asus M5A97 mb / Phenom II x6 1100T cpu I was wondering which is the better cpu for gaming, the Phenom or the FX cpu's also while the mb temp doesn't exceed 32C, the cpu temp sometimes runs as high as 58C (stock cooler) (Cooler Master Case, 1 intake fan( front), 2 exhaust(top, rear), Windows 10. Any recommendations?

It is best to keep it under 62C. Those are great temps for stock cooler. And of course if you upgrade to an fx, then you need a good motherboard upgrade, a 990fx or 990x board with 8+2 phase. If you upgrade to dx 6350 or lower, it's not worth it. I reccomemd you seat with your current phenom as it is a very good and capable CPU. If you want to overclock p, then getting an aftermarket cooler like cryorig h7 or 212 EVO to overclock for better performance. Wait for zen or save up for Intel. It's much more efficient
