Hey,

Wanted some advice on what to set me fan curve to? I recently upgraded to 5950x with Noctua DH-N15 cpu fan. Current set up:

CPU - Ryzen 5950x
CPU Fan - Noctua DH-N15 Dual fan
Mobo - X570S AORUS MASTER
RAM - 64GB Ballistix 3600 dual channel

I hear the cpu fan revving and peaking a fair bit on tasks that aren't that intensive and sometimes when idle. Its not loud and doesnt last for more than 3-4 seconds but its more annoying lol.

I've set the profile in the bios to "silent". Wanted to know what the ideal curve should be dependent on needs. I use the pc for light youtube vids in the background whilst working on Zbrush or Maya, texture painting and ultimately rendering images from within Maya. I feel like the "silent" profile still produces revs on tasks like youtube sometimes. Any advice on what my curve should be, theres a lot of info on the subject and its tough to decipher which is best, Ive seen a lot of people start off flat but unsure whats best (first build an all haha). Any advice?

Heres my cpu curve currently:

I have my DH-N15 fans set to 33 percent from start to 60 degrees C. Then they ramp up from 33 percent to 100 percent at 70 degrees C. This works for me since most of my work doesn't stress the cpu enough to ramp up the fans. The only time my fans hit 100 percent is if I'm performing a virus scan. As you perform your routine work, check your temps and see if you can remain flat at that point. If you routinely don't go above a certain temp than you can remain flat until there.
