6k rendering is massive!!! To the point that I would NOT recommend Ryzen or Core i7s at all. Your best option is to go Xeon's or Core i9s or (recommended) Ryzen Threadripper coming soon.
But if you must, get the 1800X as the bare minimum.

Nope. Either go Big air or big liquid. Specifically that means big fat large air heatsinks with two fans or more, or radiators that are at least 240mm or larger.
You'll probably want to go Big Air as that's more reliable, incase the pump fails on an AIO. Specifically air is better in 24/7 100% load scenarios.
Yeah, much better than the 1700.
Your more cores statement isn't really true, gaming is more centric on clock speed so it won't be as good in that regard, it'll actually be pretty crap at gaming.
