i already have a 1050ti 4gb, 8gb ram, 600w power supply and a i3 6100 if that helps.

I would say update the BIOS and go with the Core i5 7600 (non-K) since you wanted the best possible available CPU. Update the BIOS with your current CPU, install the new CPU, and away you go.

Yes , your board needs a BIOS update to run 7th gen CPU's.

I'd be more inclined to do the above & sell your current cpu & board.

Youll be better off money wise, performance wise, & upgradability wise.

Skylake cpu prices are obscene compared to both Intel & amd current gen cpu's

That's up to you. 9600k would need a new board and a very good cooler too , gets more costly.
