Recently my CPU has been giving up on me and I am not exactly sure what other CPU would work good on my current system
My current components are :
Motherboard : ASUS P5KPL-AM SE
CPU : Intel Pentium 4 530 (with hyperthreading)
RAM : 2x2GB SuperTalent DDR2 RAM sticks with a 667 frequency (PC2-6400)
GPU : AMD Radeon HD 6670
Budget wise I can currently set aside 110$ but I would prefer to keep money usage to the minimum . I don't want some cpu that will make my pc a beast or anything just something that can play relatively popular games like Overwatch or Grand Theft Auto V .

Solution
I have bought Xeon E5450 (same as Q9650) for my old rig. You can get already modified to fit LGA 775 socket on Alli express for 20 $. It has lower TDP as XQ9650 and it OC very well.

QX9770 is the fastest cpu that board supports and by current standards it's now where near being a beast.

You'll also want to look at upgrading the ram as GTA V tends to stutter on systems with only 4Gb. The 6670 is going to struggle with newer games aswell.

A Core 2 Extreme QX9650 will do the job, also you may want to consider a new gpu down the road, but don't go any higher than a GTX 750 ti (even that will bottleneck considerably) unless you overclock. (But be sure to check if your motherboard supports 1333MHz FSB processors first) before you buy anything

Specs on that motherboard say it's using a 1333mhz fsb, so that QX9650 is a go. On Ebay I see them at around $80. Sadly, the specs I saw said that motherboard only supports 4gb ram. That's fine for most games you'd run on that system, but not for GTA V. You can expect to see stuttering in the framerate in that game when using 4gb system ram.

A lot of the mobo's from that era said that, but they supported 8GB in reality. Though those are the 4 slot ones, if I looked up the right picture then thats only a dual slot for ram, so yeah sadly 4GB is your limit unless you can afford to pay an arm and a leg for 2 4GB DDR2 sticks those aren't cheap at all.

The QX9650 will do the job but it is also quite high in price wise . What I forgot to mention is that this computer is something I am using to get by till the end of the year after that I am changing my rig . Anyways I will most likely get the Xeon E5450 but the thing is that on ali express there is only one offer which I am not exactly sure about
https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/LGA775-slot-Xeon-E5450-3-0GHz-12M-1333-CPU-close-to-Core-2-Quad-Q9650-CPU/1190557_2041514744.html?spm=2114.12010615.0.0.oijxAq
Now I am going to be straight I have never had a need to buy a modded cpu or anything close to that so I don't know if there are any risks and what to do if I get one . Also is it safe on Ali Express ? I usually buy my PC parts from local town stores or take them off rigs my friends have given me so I don't know how much I can trust Ali .Also I have a stock intel cooler should I consider changing it ?

Heres a the exact same thing except its a core 2 quad https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001D86S3G/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1498421083&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=core+2+quad+q9650&dpPl=1&dpID=41BVnEChYCL&ref=plSrch the only difference between the 2 is cache and its not multiplier unlocked

That sort of didn't answer my question but either way . I am sticking with the Xeon 5450 tho I would love if someone could tell me what are the odds of the deal on ali express to be fake but I guess Ill take my chances .
