Best CPU for "Asus P5G31KPL/1600" (Intel LGA775 "G31" chip)

I cant choose best CPU for Intel G31 chipset

Ok, in this list, for example Q6700: launch 2007 and use 65nm lithography, but better than other cpu!

An other, E6800 luanch 2010 with 2MB SmartCache and E8600 launch 2008 with 6MB L2 cache
Why older CPU in better?

Why older CPU (E8600) has better bus speed than E6800?

And why the older older CPU (Q6700) with old 65nm lithography better than all new CPU with new lithography!?


Is this true?
Celeron < Pentium < core2dou < core2quad

Please say me best CPUs (at least 5 cpu) for this chip

Why don't you just look at motherboard's manufacturer's site ? Not all manufacturers implement all features of particular chipset and/or may not BIOS that supports everything. Situation is even worse when it comes to brand name computers.
As far as "best" CPU for some platform goes it all depends on what you are going to use it for and if you have to choose between more cores or higher single core frequency/performance.
Generally, most dual core (for instance) from same series CPUs are made on same die as a 4 core but with 2 cores disabled for various reasons mostly because they are defective.

Not in this case.
Core2Quad is actually 2x Core2Duo cores on one package.

Best cpu, you can put on that board is C2Q Q9650 (not counting extreme editions).

Quad - has 4 cores, duo - 2 cores. Quad is better.

Take note of minimum BIOS version required for each processor. Generally, newest BIOS version would cover all processors on that list.

Core 2 Quad Q9650(rev.E0,3.00GHz,1333FSB,L2:12MB) is what I had on a Asus P5QD-Turbo and it was good, Gave it to a friend couple of years ago and he's still using it. If you don't get it with appropriate cooler, get an aftermarket one, coolers from C2D are just not enough.
