I would wait until the Ryzen 2 reviews are out to make a decision, especially when it comes to pricing of the motherboards compared to the first generation. And this is being optimistic there are no bugs at release like the first generation motherboards went through. But yes, Ryzen > Intel when it comes to video editing unless said Intel chip is highly overclocked. I'm leaning towards Ryzen for my next build because of their longer chipset support. Intel has gone through three series of motherboard chipsets in two and a half years between Skylake, Kaby Lake, and Coffee Lake. That's insane.
One comment about video rendering: depending on the program, the GPU will be faster to render with if you have a powerful enough one. I use Vegas...
