Best CPU for gaming?

I have currently got a AMD Athlon 750k and it's bottle necking my GTX 980, I need a upgrade. I was thinking of getting the intel i7 6700k. Would a i7 6700k fix my bottle necking problem? Or would I need a better one?

There is no better CPU than the 6700k for gaming. So yea, it will do great.
