Best cpu for GTX 960

I saw on GAME-DEBATE that i5 4690k is best cpu for MSI gtx 960 4GB GAMING EDITION but I was planning for i5 6600k so please help me what should I go for and what will be the performance difference. thanks in advance

Do you already have the 960? Every i5 would have similar performance with a 960. The i3 is a great match considering the 960 is just a midrange video card.

I don't like the idea of an i5 6600k + Z170 board + GTX960 because that is an imbalanced poor bang for buck build.
For the same price, you could have an i5 6500 + B150 board + GTX970 that would completely destroy it in performance.

CALL OF DUTY SERIES;
CS GO;
GTA V;
ASSASSIN'S CREED SERIES.
I am not big fan of games like FALLOUT or WITCHER; DARK SOULS and recently released games. you can expect i will not play any other game apart from them. But I am looking for best optimisation in same price value . in my country GTX970 is 125$ more than GTX 960 which is a great cost for me ; IDK about you

The only way to increase performance would be getting a better gpu.so since not in the budget is what you have the best.Make sure you buy a cooler with that cpu,it doesn't come with one.

Did you look carefully at what Cturbo mentioned about the combo he proposes? He's not talking about a Z170 board with that i5 6500,a B150 board should be alot cheaper and an i5 6500 as well,maybe enough to get the gtx 970.Newer gpu's are on the way to get onto the market not so far from now so might want to check that too.

first of all thnx for spending little time for preparing rig for me. I appreciated ur search and u gave me good option - 6500 with gtx 970 for 6600k with gtx 960 will prove excellent substitution.
As u suggested EVGA is it for droping the cost or is it good performer.I would like to ask should i go for MSI ASUS OR EVGA look I want good performance and durable card. Not one of the geeks who love overclocked version extreme version or like detailed version of pc hardware. I expect a good smooth gaming. As EVGA is cheaper aomng ASUS MSI GIGABYTE . will it give best price to perfomance output
