Best CPU for my motherboard

Hello,

I need your support to choose as best CPU as my motherboard can manage. This PC is going to be used till the end of this year. I think that I would like to have better X4 Phenom.

Specification:
- Gigabyte HD 6850 1GB
- Phenom 9550 4x2,2GHz 95W
- 8GB ram 800MHz
- 400W Power Supply
- Gigabyte ga-m52l-s3 rev 1.0

That change should help me to use graphic card in better way. I play mainly fps games like cs:go and h1z1.

Does it mean that Phenom II x4 940 125W is a max? Do I need to change power supply?

Yes, that's the best chip supported by that particular board.

Your current PSU would probably be OK. However, depending on the model of PSU & the GPU you're considering upgrading to, you might want to consider getting a higher-rated 450W to 550W PSU.

I need power supply also. Old is dead. Is 500W enough? Could you please suggest something?
