Question Best cpu for PGA478?

So i have laptop with pga478 (P Socket)

chipset (Intel GM45/GM47 rev.07)
Now i have t4300 and i am planing to buy t9300

what cpu is the best you think? To buy?

What max ram i can have for this and best CPU (and are the t9300 good upgrade)

Socket 478 and P are not the same socket and are not compatible with each other. You do have socket P but just because it's the same socket, does not mean the bios is compatible. It's a waste of time and money and it's not worth it. Nothing you can change will make much of a difference at all. If it's just to tinker than go ahead.

It depends on what model laptop--not all processors are supported on a particular chipset because they need bios support too.

How many memory sockets do you have?

2 memory socket i will put 2x2gb ram becose i cant find 1x4gb ram i find on ebay but for 50/60€ that is to much

Thank you for the additional information. I'll try to research the cpu upgrade later today. 2x2gb will work great and they are cheap to find. That in itself will be a huge boost even if a cpu upgrade isn't possible.

Ok thanks,i think intel gm45 as i search support 8gb ram i try to find cheap 4gb ddr2 but i cant... 1x4gb ddr2 hard to find and if you find is like 50/60€ thats to much..

i will put 2x2gb to have 4gb and 120gb ssd + new cpu if i can,but i search for cpu and i can becose cpu is not soldred and some people say that they upgrade but i need secend opinion

A 50€ tablet would have better performance. Just a thought.

You would be way better off upgrading to a $250 laptop based on a Ryzen 3500U APU. Anything based on S478 is getting way too old even for basic browsing and other basic use, also forces you to use outdated OS and software.

I found only very limited information on a cpu upgrade. There seems to be a bios issue with pressing f1, and aside from a t9600 I couldn't find much more that anyone had installed.

But like I said before, your bios is going to be what determines if it will work or not--chipset is only a piece of the puzzle.

That cpu is ridiculously expensive if it is genuine. Otherwise you're buying a fake which might even be slower than what you already have.

If your drive is sata, this should work as a great replacement:

And if prices are as cheap as they are here, you should really be getting a 500GB ssd vs 120.

You're paying too much on ebay for junk. You can get brand new name brand stuff for that much. Used stuff on ebay should be at least 1/2 the cost of new.

I paid $7 for a 120GB ssd almost a year ago.
