Best CPU for Setup

So I am looking to get a new CPU for my rig. When I first built my PC (about a year and a half ago) I was just looking for components to get it up and running. But now it has come time to upgrade. My motherboard has an LGA1151 socket with a current Intel Pentium g4560. CPU should not cost more than 250$. Any help would be appreciated

Could you post your system components, specially the motherboard model.

Why are you upgrading? What you hope to accomplish with the upgrade will help determine your best choice. Since you currently have a 2 core/4 thread CPU then the next step up is an i5, but that's not necessarily the best upgrade for the price.
