Best CPU for under $200

I was thinking about saving up and buying a new CPU for under $200. The kind of socket it has does not matter to me. I will be running it with a GTX 970 OC and with 16 gb of ram. I am looking to play some CPU intensive games so I would like the CPU that is good at multithreaded and single threaded applications.

I am willing to go a little over $200 but if possible I would like to stay in that price range.

I'd suggest the i5-6400 if you're willing to spend $205.

If you live near a microcenter, they will sell you a I5-6600K@3.5 for $199.
To my mind, the some 40% boost available from overclocking makes it a much better value than any other I5.
