WoW still favors intel but the ability of even an amd athlon II x4 650k can do anything you want within the game. my sone plays it on an A10-6800k apu with just the igpu at mid settings and good fps.

I put something really simular together for a guy about 5 months ago. It came out really nice and its pretty well portable.

You can of course switch out the xeon for an i5 4670k. I'd personally take the xeon due to the benefits of hyperthreading - it's equivalent to an i7 4770 with the same clockspeed.

lol, yea by 2 fps, there is no margin. Go check for yourself, I own systems with both cpus now, 2 fps more in wow with a 780 on the 4670k, the 8300's are just fine. Personally I say go 4670k if you have the budget but any cpu will do well in WoW aboce the athlon 750k. The 8300's will perform as well as the i5's and i7's in new gen 8 core optimized titles like crysis, BF3 and 4, and others. Only a 2-5fps difference from the 8350 to the 4770k.

Intel I5, WoW does not support multicore CPUs very well, it uses like 3 cores at most, so the best CPU there would be I5 since it has 4 cores and each individual core is much better than those of AMD.

i love how people say oh any cpu will work fine......what with everything turned off who wants to play like that.... i have an i5 2320 and a gtx770 and in 25m raids i get 8 fps so no not any cpu will be fine.....but i would think the 4670k or 4770k would be your best bet

something else is wrong with your setup... I play on an i3-3220 laptop with hd3000 graphics and get 15 fps at mid settings in 25m raids. with an i5 and gt770 you should get 30+ at ultra in any situation
