Hi, I'm new here and I was wondering the best CPU match for my first build .
I'm on a 700€ budget and I'll buy everything except the GPU I'll take one Asus Radeon R7 260X 2GB OC or a Asus Radeon R7 360 OC 2GD5 2GB, and I'm gonna buy the ASUS STRIX R9 390X 8GB, the Asus MG279Q or MG278Q monitor, and the liquid cool system: EK-KIT X360. in a year In my mind I have 860K and when I have to upgrade my GPU (in a year), i will oc it to the maximum to avoid bottleneck. I need your opinion will that work ?? I'm also an AMD Fan !
Pls help me with some other questions:
1. Which GPU should I get ?
2. What Monitor should I get ?
3. How much will I have to oc my 860K to have similar performance to a Intel Core i5-4690?
4. Recommended PSU wattage for my oc?

Sorry for so many questions :??:but pls answer them, thanks in advance 😉

Solution
You should probably get nothing higher than 290x (390(x)) or GTX 970. I personally dont recommend amd gpus because their drivers are shit, but its ok to mess with.

If you get GTX 970 in the future or 390, 290x, 390x, then it will be an entry level to 1440p gaming. If you are fine with 1080p stay. If you have the money, 1440p will be eye candy. 1ms-5ms is recommended. Anything higher is not as good. For 1080p, you should get 22-24 inch monitor (27 max). For 1440p, 27-32 is perfect.
For overclocking the 860k, you should be fine with air although you can step up to liquid but I dont like liquid because it can leak, has to be maintained carefully.

Cheers :)
1) GTX 970 is better than the AMD R9 390X, but if you want the AMD route I would get the ASUS STRIX R9 390X 8GB

2) 1080p, 2ms, 22"+, good brand name...LG, Samsung, I prefer Viewsonic myself

3) Quite a bit, the i5-4690 is not only faster but also more efficient. I would just get the new CPU, the i5-4690k Devils Canyon is AMAZING!

4) The R9 390X will require about 375W Power Consumption alone, they recommend 650W I believe. But for good measure and OC options, nothing less than 750W from a Tier 1 PSU

If i were you id save the money on the 390x and get the 390. Its 970 performance with 8gb vram and about £15 cheaper, for your asus monitor though it would be best to get 2x 390 and you can fully utilise that 144hz 1440p glory. The 970 is a fantastic card and like previous poster said the 4690k for the money you cant really get any better

If you are an AMD fan, then the 860k is your CPU. It has one of the best single thread performances of AMD CPUs on the market. It definetely WILL bottleneck the 390x so you really should OC the heck outta that 860k to get max performance. Other than that you are fine.

1. If you want a good GPU now then don't bother with 360. Get the r7 260x as it at the same price point and still is more powerful.
R9 390x is a good choice for 1440p gaming and a little bit of an overkill for 1080p

2. Get a good LCD monitor with 1-2ms response time, 144hz, 1440p to absorb the beauty of this card

3. You will not be able to match the performance of i5 with 860k. i5 is WAY better. 860k will bottleneck one way or the other, It is a good CPU, but if you really do not lose any performance, go Intel.

4. For now you should stick with 600w + PSUs. If your budget allows I recommend the EVGA SuperNova GS series PSUs.

Good luck :)

Thank u all for u responces, for the psu Im gonna go with the Corsair CS850M because Im gonna oc my 860k or maybe not from 3.7 GHz to 5.7 GHz (+2.00 GHZ OC) that's why, at 135€ is it a good solution ?
For temporary display Im gonna go with the Asus VS247HR at 140€.
For my future 1440p display I might go with the Acer Predator XG270HU if the asus monitors are expensive.
For my temporary gpu Im gonna go with the Asus Radeon R7 260X 2GB OC because i heard it has more stream processors than the R7 360. But pls tell me is there a difference between R200 and R300 series gpus ???? And does it fully support Windows 10 and DX12 ???
PLS answer quick because in 3 days im gonna order the parts for my pc.

1st: overclocking the 860k to 5.7 GHz is virtually impossible. 4.4+ Ghz would be considered a high overclock for that CPU. I dont even know if you can push that CPU that far even on liquid nitrogen or some shit like that. Also, Windows 10 is gonna be fine with the 2xx series cards. It is recommended you get the new 370-390(x) cards but get r7 260x instead of the new r7 360.

The 2xx will PROBABLY support DX12 but dont quote me on that. The 3xx cards definitely support the new DX 12.

Also for PSU you dont need that crap of a PSU. Get EVGA SuperNova 750w or the XFX 750watt PSU

Cheers :)

Thank u very much for ur respnse "Forever Oleg" I appreciate it.
After of millions of thoughts and dilemmas in my brain (lol) i decided to go with this build:
CASE : CoolerMaster K380 @ 45€
MOBO : Asus A88X-Gamer @ 103€
CPU : AMD Athlon X4 860K @ 81€
RAM : Kingston HyperX Savage 8GB DDR3-1600MHz (CL9) @ 56€
GPU : Asus Radeon R7 260X 2GB OC @ 135€
SSD : Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB @ 58€
PSU : CoolerMaster G650M @ 84€

MONITOR : Asus VS247HR @ 140€
KEYBOARD + MOUSE COMBO : CoolerMaster Octane @ 50€
OS : Windows 7 Pro (I'll upgrade to Windows 10) @ 60€

I went with this PSU because it is cheap and good. I forgot to say im also a big fan of Asus. As u can see hardware in Greece is expensive, but not only hardware everything!!! That's why i changed my mind and went with that. Sorry for changing mind but I did it because of this fkin crisis in Greece (Sorry for bad language, I hope you'll understand). As for the future im gonna save some money for my AMD Zen build. That's why I will go with: 1) A good AiO Cooler probably DeepCool Captain 360 or a CoolerMaster 280L
2) A good and Cheap freesync monitor (1080p and i have money only 1440p)
3) I don't know 280X or 390 or 290 ( pls help to avoid bootleneck, Im gonna oc my 860K to 4,7GHz (+1.00, from 3,7).

Pls tell me your opinion "Forever Oleg"

Just get the i7 880 or xeon 3480 and Overclock it.These 3 digits CPU are really easy for OverClocking.I recommend you an AIO watercooling for your CPU or the CM Hyper 212x,It is a good one.I am using it with xeon 3480 Overclocked to 4,5ghz and my Full load temps are 64°C.Or on the other side,You could downgrade your GPU to R9 290x or R9 280x,those are your best choices.Have a nice day.
