Hi, im looking for the best possible cpu for the lga 775 socket, at the moment i have a Pentium Dual-Core CPUE5800. Could you also include a budget option?
Thanks
QX-9770 would be the fastest, but Q9650, Q9550, even Q6600 are not that far off and cheaper as well as more available. I would not invest in such an old platform. Even a used 2500K would be much, much faster.

If you can find a rev G0 Q6600 on the cheap, it's a "beast" with OC.
but unless your motherboard is a really good OC model, you might aswell upgrade for used MB+Sandy Bridge cpu as said above it would be much faster.

Thanks for the answer, the Q6600 seems the right choice for me as i don't want to spend too much on this old pc as i will be upgrading soon XD
