So I am planning on upgrading my Dell Inspiron 3847. I want to upgrade my Processor, Graphics Card, and Power Supply, and have the total for all three items come to $500 or less. I just need reccomendations for the best products in my price range. Any help/guidance is highly appreciated, thank you.

I would suggest an SSD too, but I've heard there's a lot of trouble hooking one up with Dell or Mac towers. If you change the case you would be able to though.

If you want to overclock the processor, you will have to go with the 4690K, and it will cost an additional 15 dollars.

Since OP did not provided any info on his system as it is MUST been DONE in THE FIRST PLACE, I would list Dell official compatible processors for this model, plus user verified upgrade:

Haswell i7-4770 (3.40GHz, 86W,)
Haswell i5-4670 (3.40GHz, 86W,)
Haswell i5-4570 (3.20GHz, 86W,)
Haswell i5-4440 (3.10GHz, 95W,)
Haswell i3-4130 (3.40GHz, 65W,)
Pentium G3220 (3.10GHz, 65W)
Pentium G1820 (2.70GHz, 65W)

And user verified - Haswell i7-4790 (3.40GHz, 88W)

As soon as OP will post his info, the rest can be done very easy.
