Best CPU to pair my RTX 2070,

So i've just upgraded my GPU but i need to upgrade since my I5 7400 is obviously a bottleneck. Now i need a good CPU to pair it with.

Max price AMD: 380 euro
Max price Intel: 350 euro (Cooler price)

Need to know what motherboard you have. You can't use an AMD CPU with your current Intel board.

No, not obviously so. It depends on:
- what games you're playing
- what your monitor's resolution and refresh rate are

Mostly 1080p75Hz but i play VR aswell. I play competitive aswell as AAA games.
Will the 2600x be fine?

The 2600X will be fine but the Intel i5-8600K will be better at your 1080p and will be a lot better at sustaining high FPS for competitive gaming and drive the 2070 to the max...just depends on price as I am not sure how much in Euro's but it is roughly £260...The 2600X will save you money though...

Just checked and the i5-9600K is just £15 more and just a bit faster...

In Euro's on Amazon France and Germany the 8600K is Euro's 270 and the 9600K is Euro's 319...

Not true the 2600x is a 12 threaded CPU so this will likely result in 70% since games dont use all the threads.

What I meant was, with your existing i5, are you seeing the CPU running at max when you are gaming?
