Hey guys, I am building a pc for some light gaming thats for WoW mostly. I am planning on upgrading this pc in the future so I wouldn't like to have any outdated cpus like AM2s or FM1s. Currently I am considering getting the AMD A6-5400K, but am stuck on if there is a better cpu for around the same price out there. Some ppl have recommended me the Pentium g3258 but that is out of my price range. Can any recommend my a CPU thats better then the one i'm considering for the same price or cheaper?

My budget is like $300 for the whole build. Right now I am under budget a bit bc I bought some parts off of eBay

Solution
That pentium is only $60.

Do something to earn a whole $10 and go that route.

The AM2 platform is awful as soon as you want to upgrade. The BEST AM2 socket CPU performs at about the level of a core i3.
I am a little bit above budget , I think this is the best thing you can get for the given amount of money.

I think i'll just wait a tiny bit longer to get my pc. I'll save up some extra cash to put toward my cpu, I will be looking to play some of the modern games on medium so it's probably best to get more money. Would any quad core around the price of the g3258 beat it?
