Best CPU support by your mobo CPU Intel Core2 Quad Q9650 @ 3.00GHz but they prices are quite high $65+ is more than two times powerful that your curent CPUs.

Identical performances as Core2 Quad Q9650 have Xeon E5450 an he cost less aroun 40-45$ but requires some modification in mobo socket and aprently you mobo supprt this cpus

How do this video socket mod :https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmbK2ik4Xt8

Tweaks and all would be very troublesome for me. And i could not find Core 2 Quads anywhere. I'll try finding in some local shops can spend upto 4K on processor.
Anyway, How about upgrading mobo aswell? Would that be a good idea?
My present mobo seems to work fine and its 4 years old only. Does the internal stuff of mother board also affects the performance?
I might consider both mobo and cpu replacement if it's really worth it.
