Best CPU X3370 Or Q6600 bsel Mod

Well I'm looking to upgrade my potatoe pc. It's currently rocking a core 2 duo E8400. I have the DQ45CB motherboard, and it doesn't have the ability to overclock. Also 8gb ddr2 ram, hd 4650. Also looking to upgrade gpu. And a thermaltake 500watt psu.

So, should I get a Xeon X3370 or a core 2 quad q6600 and hope the bsel mod works

u dont want to get a Xeon they are designed for servers so out of ur 2 (old) choices go for the quad q6600

I think a Q9650 would be your best bet. Just be reasonable on your expectations. A Youtube channel, Tech Deals, has a 'will it play' series showing how a stock Q6600 paired with a 1030 runs various games. You should take a look to get an idea of what that upgrade would get you.
