So, I come from an unfortunate incident where a faulty motherboard burned out my fx 8300, now I have to buy a new processor with another motherboard.

What would be a good processor for that price and also what motherboard is good for it (a good one that will not burn my components..) Limit is 200 for the porocessor and 200 for the motherboard

I really have no intentions of oc and I mostly use it for gaming

the PSU is a Cougar rx 600w 80 plus

Not finding too many other DDR3 options out there. No ATX boards left, lots of cheap H81 MicroATX boards though.

Here is a thought:

Any DDR3 capable motherboard/CPU combo then?

You might be able to find some i5-4460 for around $200. LGA1150 motherboards, slim pickings either very cheap or surprisingly expensive. But If I were you I would look at the used market for some i7 CPUs and motherboards.

You can pick up whole business computers with i7-3770 in them for like $300, get some spare parts that way.

Heck I'm tempted to buy this: https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIAAJ26T72315
