Hey,

This is my motherboard: GA-G41MT-S2PT (rev 1.1)
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3972#sp
It has dual channel memory architecture.
Support for DDR3 1333 (O.C.)/1066/800 MHz memory modules.
It has 2 slots, right now I have 2x2GB(4GB total) Kingston DDR3 1333MHz KVR1333D3S8N9/2G

I wanted to upgrade to 2 sticks 4 GB each (8GB total, this is the max my mobo can handle).
does my mobo even supports 2x4GB?
This motherboard is very limited.
I've also heard that 1600mhz can work, I don't really know.
I don't really care for mhz, 1600/1333/... whatever.
How can I know what RAM is compatible?
Can anyone tell me what RAM can I use? specific model name would be great!

p.s
Someone told me that a RAM with chips (black squares) from both sides like kingston HYPERX should work.

EDIT: I have here 2 sticks of Kingston KVR16N11S8/4 DDR3 4GB 1600mhz 1.5v.
they are not working, I turn on the computer and no monitor reaction, black screen for 30 secs and the computer resets itself and so on. Is this RAM should be compatible?

EDIT2: My MOBO needs Dual Rank memory to support 4GB sticks.

I think my mobo has been overclocked, how can I know?

another question, does my mobo even supports 2x4GB of ram?

thanks!

EDIT: this is what I have now - kvr1333d3s8n9/2g
http://www.kingston.com/datasheets/kvr1333d3s8n9_2g.pdf
means my mobo has been overclocked right?

Nothing comes overclocked out of the box, even generic graphics card manufacturers don't OC their cards, they only set higher clock speed tolerances, but in your case, its not overclocked if you didn't overclock it.

Yes I believe it can support 2x4 GB, even my old one did, and it was only DDR2.

A friend told me that KVR1333D3N9/4G would work for sure, can you confirm?
(because it's dual rank memory which i need for my mobo)

Did it worked? Plz tell me!

just tried a KVR1333D3N9/4gb on my G41MT-s2 rev 1.3 and It ddin't work. Are there any still using this mobo in which it's memory reached 8gb?
