Today most SSDs are well grouped into ranges. Eg 1TB is between 110 and 140 Eur and saving 10 Eur on questionable manufacturer is under big question.
Also what matters a lot is warranty. Difference between 3 and 5 years is 10 - 20 Eur. Think 5 years worth few Eur more.
Also, DO NOT trust manufacturers and their numbers. There are a lot of sites with benchmarks showing real results. Copying huge files is not real example!

But most important: Google before buy to see what others say!

I agree. There are further differences: 2.5in vs M.2 (more pricey), SATA vs NVME (pricer), NVME 3.0 vs 4.0 (pricier), and certain products of a brand are alot more expensive even if the same interface and capacity is used.

Wow, SSD prices in Europe must be alot higher than in America :(. Here you can easily find brand-name 1TB SATA SSDs for $100. Or 85 Euros?

I just purchased the Western Digital 4TB WD Blue for $371 on Amazon. I have wanted a larger SSD for game storage, replacing a Seagate 1TB HDD. Ended up paying .09 per GB.

Question - My laptop requires M.2 2280 SSD. None of the units listed indicated they were 2280 SSDs. Or are they?

That is the most standard size (22mm x80 mm - ratio is about like a stick of gum) and the one used by all the M.2s on the list. Very few are made smaller than that (your laptop would probably accept the smaller ones too as they are just shorter).

Horrible list of ssds. Outdated prices, questionable recommendations (Reletech, really?),missing information(ie: m.2 nvme sata or pcie, dramless or not) . You should just take this article down. You started this in October 2020. It is February 2021 now and it says list is updated daily?

Yeah, we in Europe have lower salaries but higher prices

US prices are in reality not that much lower than in EU, US stores generally display prices without sales tax, which is only shown at checkout. Conversely in EU all prices must be quoted with tax included at all times.

Another aspect slightly affecting the price gap is the minumum mandatory warranty and return period and conditions. Customer protection is much higher, but naturally shops will factor it into prices.

You guys seems to be overlooking the best NVMe on the market which has some great sales at the moment. The ADATA S70 Blade has been getting phenomenal reviews , scoring well on pretty much every metric and operating at lower temperatures than other drives, meaning it doesn’t need a massive heat sink. It’s also available at $280 inclusive of tax and shipping for the 2TB version, from NewEgg. It is faster, cooler, more enduring, and cheaper than the Samsung 980 Pro - but no review or mention in Tom’s. Come on guys, let’s get some impartial coverage.

I won't argue that Tom's scope of brands it follows and covers is somewhat limited, but in case ADATA, there's a reason why many newsites choose not to cover their products frequently, if ever. ADATA as company has a long standing history of obfuscating what the actual hardware of their products is, and habitualy changes the hardware after launch while still selling "same but different" under same SKU. Which depending on when you buy that particular part, you may end up either being super happy or super pissed. It has been their standard modus operandi even back in early 2000's when they were mostly know for selling DDR modules and cheap flash thumbstick drives.
