My Rig consists of an Aerocool Xpredator Green Chassis, able to run 8 fans. It has 2 23cm fans, one top as Exhaust, and one in front as Intake. The remaining 6 are all 14cm Aerocool Shark fans. One on the bottom of the case is doing Intake, the rest currently are all on Exhaust, one at the back and 4 on the side.
The previous setup had all the side fans as Intake, which I'm used to having them as on rigs. Temperatures still got really high, on idle and even more so during gaming.
I have a Asus Maximus Gene VI board, and run two Asus Nvidia GTX 560 TI 920MHz cards in SLI. Problem there is in my opinion the two graphics cards are pretty much right on top of each other, and as such create a lot of heat. In idle the temperatures will settle at around 45C for my main card, and 66C for the 2nd running as PhysX. This of course also pushes up my CPU temp to close 45C-50C in basic processes (Intel I7 4770K 3.50GHz). My system is not being overclocked at all.
The cards themselves can easily run most games in Ultra or High, but because temperatures rise really high when I am gaming, so I keep settings to medium or low, which the main card will go up to around 70C minimum, and the PhysX will easily go to the 90Cs. In turn this pushes the CPU temp high into the 50s.
Is there any other way for me to direct airflow in my case, for optimal cooling? The side fans are running on full power, doing 95 CFM each. The other fans are on voltage reduction since they route to the board and so do 50CFM each.
