Hey guys I am thinking about building a pc for my brother and I have a HD 7850 I am going to give em was wondering what would be a good build lets say around $500

Solution

The BioStar is low grade motherboard so normally wouldn't get it, but it's a good enough starting point.
You can just later upgrade the motherboard.
If you have already DDR3 in your pc, you can re-use that and possibly just add more.
So that leaves you bunch of money for good gpu and possibly new power supply.

GTX 960 4gb should do the trick. (around 250$)
Also CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO as cooler for around 30$

Would a BioStar TA970 with Fx-6300 for $110 be a good start?

The BioStar TA 970 has a poor thermal design (4+1 power phase) and isn't meant to run a six or eight core processor. much less overclock with one. Either be prepared to pay a premium for an aftermarket cooler to overclock the FX 6300 with and decent 970 motherboard like the Gigabyte 970A UD3P, or go Intel and run a Haswell Core i3 with a H97 motherboard with no aftermarket cooling needed.
