The network I am on currently will not access flipkart's website, here is a general guideline.

A 3.5" hard drive will be faster then a 2.5" hard drive but will require an external power source.
USB 3.0 drive will be faster then USB 2.0 as USB 2.0 tops out at 60 MBPS, but your 2.5" hard drive will top out at around 80MBPS and the 3.5" will top out around 100-110 MBPS; thus your hard drive will be bottlenecked on USB 2.0.

Seagate and Western Digital are both major brands in the hard drive space so just get one that is made by one of those two.

I would also be slightly reluctant to buy a drive from ebay, a hard drive is the most fragile part in a computer and if it is damaged during shipping you want a reliable company that you can get...

So to recap, you want a Seagate or Western Digital USB 3.0 drive for a reputable company, and then either get a 3.5" drive for speed, or 2.5" drive for portability (smaller and no additional power adapter needed).

I have 2 Seagate 3tb external usb 3.0 drives and a Western Digital 4tb external 3.0 usb; which all work just fine. Both are equally reliable imo. I'd recommend going through someplace like NewEgg, Amazon, or other reputable distributors since they have a tendency to be better in their shipping quality (bubble wrap, foam, etc).
