I am debating between buying a gtx 1080 ti or a rtx 2080, for my PC. This pc is mainly for 3D modeling, but I definitely want it to be capable of pretty decent gaming. I dont know if their are advantages of one vs the other in this scenario.

Go with the cheapest one because tbh the 2000 series is a rip-off. (This is coming from someone with one btw.) Anyway the 1080 ti is probably cheaper so i'd say go with that.

Alrighty, thanks.

I think that even thought it may seem like it at the time, an RTX2080 is a rip-off, but at the moment its the best consumer card. For someone who is going to be doing detailed 3D modeling, it is a good choice considering the price tag for quadros. However, the Radeon VII no matter what anyone says, has the most high bandwidth memory and is VERY suited for 3D modeling and other workstation tasks.
