I have gtx 1070 ti and future upgrade will be processor and i am thinking about switching to amd. So should i stay with intel and go for i7 or i5 8600k or switch it to amd and which ryzen is best for my gpu.

Solution
If we were talking about 1st gen Ryzen vs kaby/coffee lake, yeah intel for sure.

But now that Ryzen 2 is out, I've seen the benchmarks, Ryzen 2 is incredibly close to Intel when it comes to frame rate, while offering more cores and more threads.

I'd personally go for a Ryzen 2xxx series CPU. But if you want the absolute best gaming performance right now (again right at this moment), then intel is the way to go.

Heres a setup. Are You planning to overclock?

you need to specify what kind of gaming are you going for...
resolution and target fps depending on your monitor.
for example if you want to game on a 1440p 60hz monitor you dont need a high end cpu but when it comes to 1080p 144hz thats a different story.

Since you're mainly gonna be gaming, better go with Intel as it still has the best CPUs for gaming period. Ryzen has an edge over Intel in productivity which you won't be doing alot. IMO i7-8700k. A CPU with 6 cores and hyperthreading is better. It will push out more frames and will run for a long time.
