Buy something like a 2TB hard drive. Backup to the hard drive. and take drive to a place where its not going to walk away. Like your parents.

I bought a HGST 2TB hard drive a couple of weeks ago for $70. Should hold about 10-15 full backups for me, is faster than any online service (unless you are on fiber already), and is a one time cost. And with the drive safely stored away, nobody will ever be able to snoop on your data.

I agree. I'm not thrilled with the security of online backups / storage. If you recall the scandal last fall with all of the stolen files containing nude photos of Jenifer Lawrence and others.

Get two drive, one for offsite and one for onsite. Then you make your fresh backup, swap it with the offsite one, and run a 2nd backup, all done & no need to swap again.

The important thing to remember is a backup is an extra copy of your important files, not an only copy.
