Best free video editing software?

Hey guys so I'm looking for the best free video editing software. Like most people I want to start a Youtube channel but I don't want to spend a penny until I get an audience. I have a new PC now with 8GB if RAM and an i5 4590 and a GTX 960 so I can now run the best software and at least be able to use it.

Now as the actual software, I have done a little research. I have used Lightworks in my old laptop, but I couldn't run it at all. I liked it but the it was a little too confusing and I had many bugs with it, but according tow hat I read, its mostly because of my hardware. Also it can only export 720p which is understandable, but if I can find a program that's similar and that can export 1080p and it free, then that would be the compkete package. I just want a program that has a similar interface to something like Premier Pro or Sony Vegas where I can make transitions easily and edit the video and audio aspect easily. Basically the closest thing to Sony Vegas.

Kdenlive does what you ask but there is no windows version. You could use it in vmware or install a copy of
linux.

Kdenlive can be good for you. If you like to use it for Linux then this works good but sometimes it's a little buggy. You can start off with this article.
