Best free virus protection

Hi. i was wondering what is the best free virus protection to get?i was thinking between avast free and microsoft security essentials but i do not know if they are any good and which one is better. also what is a good free protection to have for spyware, worms, trojans, malwalaire. does the free malwaire anti malwaire cover this.

MSE, Avast Free and AVG Free are all good choices.
For malware checks look at SuperAntiSpyware or Malwarebytes.

And every so often use one of the online AV scanners to double check your AV software hasn't been compromised. Most of the major AV players websites have an online scanner.

Have been using AVG Free for over 3 years now and haven't had a problem yet.

I'd have to recommend Avast as an antirvirus and Malwarebytes as an antispyware thought Microsoft Security Essentials has some neat tricks up it's sleeve as well
