I already have my CD/DVD RW (fairly new), I also may keep the Vid card Radion 4850 HD (would love to upgrade), I also may retain my two middleaged Hard drives and a not so old external backup.

But the rest needs to = a sweet budget gamers rig, On the HOPEFUL side perhaps around $500 USD (but Im married) so it could be a good deal less ( T.T ).

Help me Obi-wan Tomshardware forums you're my only hope (Drama is ALWAYS free)!!

P.S. The power supply of the old (six or seven years) rig was fried (all else was lost and smelly)...

BTW more ideas are welcome!

My old & dead rig was a six or seven year old emachine W3400 that I added to over the years to keep it able to game with ( I could even play HL2 & L4D2) so $$$ is TIGHT, but I MUST have a rig with long term potential.

A case good for the LONG haul (expand/mod-ability).

A power supply made with future changes in mind.

A mobo.

A CPU.

If the other parts I kept from the old rig still work, I may be ok for a bit....

I NEED MY RIG BACK <twitch twitch>.
