Have fun brother .best of luck :)

i'm pretty much in agreement with Alpha's build though ..... I just finished building most of it :)

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K (yeah me too)

CPU Cooler: Corsair H100i (please no.... no 60 dBA stuff belongs in a $3k+ build. Full WC loop, see below)

Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VI FORMULA (Gorgeous .... Sometimes I just turn it on, and stare in the case window)

Memory: Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB (I stepped it up to Mushkin DDR3-2400 CAS 10 ... for $5 more than the Dominators, was no brainer))

Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 500GB (I went with twin 256 GB 840 pros)

Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB (Why cheap out here.... I went w/ the 7200 rpm 2 TB SSHDs

Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 780 3GB (Was waiting on the Asus Poseidon.... AMD's 290x paid for my upgrade to twin 780s instead

Case: Thermaltake Chaser A71 ($3k and all I get to look at is a A71 ?.... nah... Enthoo primo all the way)

Power Supply: Corsair Enthusiast TX 850W (A TX series in a $3k build ? I could see an HX850 but 850 watts is a bit tight on twin OC'd 78-s.... + WC pump)

Optical Drive: Asus BC-12B1ST/BLK (have the BR writer too ... seemed a bit noisy, has quieted down)

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 8.1 (sticking with 7, 8 doesn't support my plotter ... don't wanna spent $15k on a new one)

Monitor: Asus VG248QE 144Hz (Unbelievable monitor will only get better with G-Sync .... have one, will add the card and buy the next 2 with t alreaday installed)

Keyboard: (Went with the G19 for the display window to monitor temps)

Mouse: Asus GX950 Wired Laser Mouse (Was weird in the hand first few days, now fine with it)

Fan Controller - (2) Reeven Six Eyes Fan Controller

Water Cooling - (1) XT45-420 (top) w/ (6) Phanteks SP-140 fans, (1) UT60-280 (bottom w/ (4) (6) Phanteks SP-140 fans, (1) Swiftech 35x2 Pump w/ HS and NB fan, (1) EK Supremacy CPU Block w/ Naked Ivy Mod, (2) EK Full Cover GPU WB's, 12mm acrylic rigid tubing w/ Bitspower Matte Black Fittings ....still haven't decided on Reservoir.

My 2 cents:

MONITORS:
Wait until the beginning of 2014 and get a G-Sync monitor (NVidia cards only). This technology is absolutely incredible.

You can build the rest now and use a cheaper monitor for a few months, or just wait.

It solves all the issues of:
- lag
- stutter
- screen tearing.
http://blogs.nvidia.com/blog/2013/10/18/g-sync/
G-Sync is the only solution that solves all three at the same time.

GRAPHICS:
2xGTX780 (EVGA 967MHz)
*Be WARNED. 3xSLI has major issues which NVidia even admits. An EVGA 780 3GB (967MHz base) is faster than a Titan but two of them cost the same ($500 each).

CPU:
latest 6-core Haswell ($580 I believe)

Motherboard:
some choice here but I like the ASUS MAXIMUS HERO VI (SupremeFX audio)

LIQUID COOLING:
*Be warned you need adequate airflow near the CPU. Some experts recommend placing the top radiator fans to INTAKE. May want to research that. I think I'd get a case with a large side fan as INTAKE and leave the radiator fans as exhaust.

Cheers.
