I plan on upgrading from the computer I built almost two years ago and there are a few things that I've grown to dislike about the setup I have.

I will mainly be using this for gaming, but I'll also be sifting through extremely large amounts of data and will also be video editing as well; I want each of these operations to be as quick as possible. If I had to give a perfect example of what I want to maximize my performance in, it would be a AAA game using CryENGINE to the fullest, so... Star Citizen?

Choose whatever peripherals you think are best.

Feel free to ask me anything necessary.

Thanks! 😉

Below is a list of essentials:

• 120Hz, G-sync Monitor(s) @ 1440p or above

• Full Directx advantage; so I'll need Windows 8 for Dx12

• Water cooling

• Anything from ATX to HPTX form factors are allowed [strike](LGA 1150 compatible)[/strike] LGA 2011 is what we seem to have chosen, going forward

• Case must have really great build quality and be very practical (i.e., cord anchors on the backside, enough room in the back for thick cords, etc.)

• Case must be a Tower or Super Tower

• Storage configurations can be whatever you think is the best, but the system must have a super fast Terabyte SSD

So I've finally decided on what the system will have.

I've taken everything that you all listed and did a lot of research for what was best and what wasn't worth it (i.e., 4960x) for my situation.

Solution
At this kind of budget, you really need the 2011 socket. The 1150 socket just doesn't have enough to CPU power/PCIe lanes for anything over 2-way SLI/Crossfire, and you wouldn't come near to the performance you can get out of hexacore i7 and 3/4-way SLI/Crossfire.

three 46" monitors for Diablo 3? What the...

Trust me man, I'm pushing the bounds of reason with this decision. I just happen to be in a lucky situation where the total bill I'm paying every month is $600. I can do some saving on the side... it's just enough to buy all of this. Of course... some of the stuff will be added later once I have a desk to fit all of the monitors to begin with! Nah, I plan on getting a thrid Titan Black when I need it. So, probably when I get the rest of the monitors.

Just barely enough savings to do this...

dude you should like total send me your old system bro. id be one grateful man. 600 bucks a month for a apartment? Hope you arnt ghetto living :)

Not Sure, I have 3 desktops, and 2 laptops atm. and one have windows 8.1, which i got for free when they where doing windows 8 to 8.1 for free, and on the others i have 8 and 7. Ive found then 8 and 7 run with less problems. 😀

I did have some different ideas for storage for fun, i wanted to max it out, i was thinking about putting a raid card in it for giggles but then it would end up over the $7000 😛

Idk, if its normal to use a lot of storage, but ive used almost 4tb in 4 months.. Maybe its because of the 3d work i do all the time xD

Thanks for getting this all started.

Looks awesome, but I really have to agree with others about sticking with win8 and just 'buying' a start menu program, i would suggest start8.

Also, you should really look into Samsung or Asus's new 4k monitors. There right around 650 bucks and look amazing, 60fps over displayport, and with the new driver update you can do it cards in SLI.

If you haven't chosen a water cooling kit, i suggest one of these.
