Best Gaming headset

I have the call of duty black ops 3 astro a40 headset for pc. and I thought they were 5.1 channel audio. But when I hook them up to my pc there not. So I'm gonna buy new headset. Should I buy another gaming headset or should I buy some expensive headphones that are made for listening to music like beats or etc? Also, I'm gonna use them for heavy gaming and that's it . I don't play online so I don't need a mic. Also, I'm not on a budget so I don't care if there expensive.

IF you want the best sound quality you should look at proper headphones such as something like a pair of Sennheiser HD 598 or something similar with a good external DAC. gaming headphones often sacrifice speaker quality for other features like a built in mic and pricing.

As a side note most headsets that say 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound only have one driver even the very expensive ones, they instead use software to simulate surround sound to varying degrees of success depending on quality.

The headset you have for example is a very high quality piece that does this very well if you are not hearing it at all you simply have the audio settings incorrect and i would look at the support forum or contact the manufacturer for that headset to figure out the problem
