I started looking for a key board and mouse for my build, I already have a mouse, I really like the SteelSeries Apex but then I found out it was not a mechanical keyboard. So I want a keyboard with RGB lighting or just a normal colored back-light.

Solution
This would be the best one you can get, according to most sites that I Googled on which is the best gaming keyboard overall, it used to be this one, now it is the Chroma, which is the one I have. But the only difference I see is the Chroma has multi color option, but it also $170 instead of $100.

Edit: You can get the non stealth version of it if you want the "satisfying" sound of pressing a key, but I like quiet keys, and that would be the stealth edition, according to Razer support anyways.

Ok I bumped up my budget, should I get the corsair one or the razor RGB lit keyboard. I've heard that some Razor keyboards break and they are made out of plastic. Also I hear the lighting on the chroma is better than the corsair one. But the buil quality is better for corsair. Oh and with RGB mouse is best, Corsair M65 or Razer DeathHaddder 2014 RGB

I chose the Razer keyboard over the Corsair keyboard because it looked better, I didn't like how the keys were so "high" on the K70, I didn't want to see what's beneath my keys. So far my keyboard has worked perfectly, every key responses instantly with no problems. The only things I don't like about it is some letters/characters are very small when they have so much space on it, such as the backspace button. Also, the characters like !@#$%^%^&*() are in grey and they don't light up, so I pretty much have to memorize where they are at night. Those are the only bad things I can think of other than loud clicks from pressing keys, but I suppose that's expected from a mechanical keyboard. From the Linus videos I saw of K70 vs the Chroma, he said the K70 was a bit complicated to use, I didn't feel like spending a lot of time figuring how to use a keyboard, lol. He said the Chroma is just a lot easier to use software wise. So far I love the wave mode, really feel like there is a wave of Chroma moving across my keyboard :)

Edit: But that's the Chroma, the Ultimate is pretty much the same without all the fancy options and $70 cheaper, you can get the stealth edition if you don't want the keys to be so loud.

The Corsair K70 RGB has proper Cherry MX switches, is made of anodized aluminum (almost as hard as diamond - practically impossible to bend) instead of plastic, but has duller LEDs but all of them light up. The software it has is very advanced but complicated to use.

If you want to save money then there is the Corsair Vengeance K70 - only difference is the LEDs aren't RGB.
