Hello all! I am currently looking for a gaming labtop to buy with a budget of 2k usd. I'm not all familiar with them at all since I come from towers but since I will be traveling a lot I would like to purchase one. I was looking for a 17" display with nice backlit keys and cooling. The disk drive isn't necessary either. I plan on doing a lot of fps gaming like battlefield and metal gears solid and want to play games on ultra with high frames as well as last awhile before I have to upgrade. I've been leaning towards the Msi gt80s titan sli labtop due to the sli set up and easily removable front plate for future upgrades if anyone knows where to find it for bit less by chance or just another labtop. All help is appreciated!

The Asus ROG G752JY is one of the best ones out there for about $2300. I believe it has everything you're asking for, besides SLI.

P.S. Still use my ROG G73JH everyday, 6 years old now, still working great for its age. It can't handle the newest AAA games with great graphics, but still good for some games. I can play Tomb Raider 2013 Medium settings, 1280 x 720 resolution with about 26-40 FPS min/max. (I don't care for 1080p gaming, I don't see a huge improvment, plus, I'm used to vintage DOS games, and N64, etc.)

The MSI GT60/GT70/GT72 laptops have upgradeable GPUs and the lid folds back all the way to horizontal, versus just beyond 90 degrees for the Asus. Customizable rainbow backlit keyboard, upgradeable CPU for the Haswell variant, etc.

For storage, can't beat the Samsung M9T 2TB laptop drive. Class leading speed with sequential transfers, not bad with random i/o and less than $100 and of course, SSD for the main volume.

Thankyou all for the reply I wa duo last night looking around some more, I think the rog is too high above my budget for now but I do appreciate the suggestion. Although I really like the sager I was just wondering how durable and long lasting are they I can't find too much on that exact model?

Sager is a retailer for the Clevo based laptops. They build and configure them and stick there name on them, similar to other brands. Since most of the parts are sourced through the same places, I don't think there's a whole lot of difference. I think there biggest knock is that some models use a plastic case vs an aluminum one.

Okay thanks I didn't know that but that makes sense about the sager products. I have finally decided to raise my budget to 2500 now since I just found out I'll be at my mos school for about 7-9 months due to it being backed up so I'll have some time to burn. Would you suggest that Msi or anything else or just stay with the sager?

Lol yeah that's alot of work if you had to go back and thanks for the suggestions all! Since I raised my budget what do you guys think of the MSI GT72S G Tobii-805 Gaming Laptop from newegg? Is that not worth the price/overkill for what I plan on using it for?
