Hello,
i would like some help finding the best gaming laptop i can for about £500, i know it would be better to have a desktop but i have a beast pc already and am looking for a laptop so that i can use it for university etc.
I mainly play world or Warcraft and am a hardcore 25man raider, so preferably want 60fps on max setting but i understand if it cant be done as even my desktop with a 4770k and r9 290x cant do it at 1080p. but most laptops are only 720p so it may be easier to do

The Clevo model linked above has

i7-4710MQ
GeForce GT 840M
8GB DDR3 SDRAM at 1600MHz
1 TB7200 RPM SATA 6Gb/s Hard Drive
ntel® Dual Band Wireless-N 7260 802.11ac 2x2 Plus Bluetooth 4.0
8X DVD±R/RW/4X +DL Super-Multi Drive & Software

Although it's just $843 here in the states, that's 524 GBP but I imagine your VAT will put quite a big hit on that.

That's a tough call at 500 GBP. Find a Clevo distributor in your area and see what they can build for you. Distributor list at link above

CLEVO is a large Taiwanese computer company specializing in laptops. While the Clevo brand name is perhaps not widely known, their products are re-branded and sold by known boutique brand OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturers)… notably Sager, VoodooPC, Falcon Northwest, Eurocom, etc. They are also considered (by whoever knows about notebooks) to design and manufacturer the best of the best notebooks in terms of superior build quality and innovative designs.

Established in 1983, as an ODM (Original Design Manufacturer), they sell barebones ranging from laptop to portable computing solutions for both AMD and Intel processors. Clevo is one of the world's most preferred ODM partners and markets their products in more than 50 countries, and have established service centers in the USA, Germany, Britain, China, and Taiwan.

I wouldn't agree that "most laptops are 720p"

Thatz about $800 US .... this (1920 x 1080 res) is $840 and is defined (http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile-Graphics-Cards-Benchmark-List.844.0.html) as being a:

2. Mid-Range Graphics Cards
With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution.

My son got his OS on campus for $10.

Of course in UK w/ VAT your cost will be higher.

I think i gave the wrong impression, but i don't need the laptop to run it on max settings i just need to be able to boot up games and show people things, as booting up a games crashes my current laptop

The laptop dasulman has suggested is good if you want to run the game at med settings. I don't think you will get better but wow doesn't require much power. You could run this thing on an ultrabook with igp and 8 gigs or ram if you want more battery life but you will only be able to play the min settings
