Best Gaming Laptop

My grandson loves computer gaming.
His uncle built him a great desktop but he does not want to take that to college.
SO...he wants a super laptop for gaming (and maybe assignments.)
Top priority is gaming.
Without being cheap, I would like a recommendation for a fantastic gaming laptop.
The basic goal is an off the shelf machine.
If it makes sense to specify components that manufacturer installs, that's great.
This can be a high end machine...
Does anybody have any ideas?

this is impossible to answer without a price range. what determines whether it is "good" is based on what you paid for it for the performance it offers in my opinion.
a good one, in most gamers minds, would be $2000+. but there are also "good" ones in a $800-1000 or $1200-1500 range.
it all depends on your budget.
most of the really great reviews i've seen lately are for ASUS or MSI builds but others offer good configurations also.

what games does he plan on playing and at what settings does he want to play those games? what frames-per-second does he want them running? how long does he plan on using it before upgrading to a newer/nicer one?
