I've been racking my brain trying to find the perfect monitor for gaming. I play games like Battlefield, Far Cry 4, Wolfenstein, Metro etc. Mostly shooters. Right now I'm running a triple monitor setup using 3 Asus VS248H monitors. Last several months I find myself using only the center monitor and using a second monitor to monitor fans, temps and my Msi afterburner software. While the 3rd monitor is off. The triple monitor gaming excitement has worn off. Now I'm looking for a bigger 27-32 inch monitor/TV as my main monitor and using one of my current Asus monitors for other things. There are so many options dealing with lag, response time, refresh rate, IPS, TN etc. My current monitors have a 2ms response time but only 60hz I believe. If I can get some recommendations on a great 1080p or 1440p monitor with a high refresh and low response would be great. I'm not ready to go 4k yet. There still seems to be a lot of problems with chrome, windows and many other programs having rendering issues. My current setup is quite a beast and I need the fastest blurless monitor that's perfect for games. I'd like to hook up using display port. My current setup is

Case: Corsair 760T
Processor: I7-4790K OC @ 4.8GHz Water Cooled
Ram: Corsair Vengeance 32GB @ 2400 MHz
Video: Dual MSI GTX 980 SLI OC'ed with afterburner
Motherboard: Asus Maximus VII hero

That is a pretty beast set up you got there, also good idea on not going with the 4k. As for size I hear most people say 27' is a bit of a sweet spot and 32' is a bit much, that's personally up to you tho. One important thing you didn't mention is budget but you seem to have the $$$ judging from your current set up so I picked out a beast.

Let me know if that's a bit much. However it's as hardcore as you can get before going to 4k.

Ouch. I won $3000 on a scratch off around Halloween and spent it all upgrading my system. It's pretty much future proof for at least 4 years. I'm actually a gamer on a budget. That is a nice monitor though.

One of the cheapest 27' 1440p monitors I could find with a great rating.

I agree ROG SWIFT is beast but it's a TN, the new ROG will be 4k IPS 60hz and will be the perfect monitor for a lot of people but the 60hz is a deal breaker for me at least for now.

Get a G-sync monitor although I love ROG SWIFT I don't love the price.

I got and recommend the AOC 24" @ $450 (you can get 3 of these if you miss your 3 screen setup) and just love it over my old 60hz what a difference! There is also the ACER 27" @ $480-$600 (usually $500 on a regular sale) if you had to get something today and will give you SOME value compared to other $600-$800 + options.

If you can wait there is a 2k IPS 144hz G-sync which does one up the SWIFTs TN but that one will also be expensive. The curved G-sync hasn't won me over yet.
