Im in the market for a new gaming monitor as I currently have a really old (6+ years) 1050p monitor. Im not even sure what the response time is on this bad boy. I run a 3770K and GTX 770, and play most games at 60 FPS easy. Apparently, I am extremely sensitive to FPS because even at 60 FPS I can make out individual frames, and screen tearing is a real issue for me. My question is, what 144Hz monitor should I buy? I DO want a monitor that can run at 144 FPS. Furthermore, is 1440p really that much better for competitive shooters than 1080p even if I will be playing at a solid 60 FPS ? Would I benefit from G-Sync? Lightboost? Help!

The linked monitor is solid. Asus produces some really nice stuff and that 1ms and 144Hz will be good. As to 1080p vs 1440p I think it is just up to your preference if you want a higher pixel density or not.
