I have large hands (7.75 in heel to tip of middle finger, 9" spread from thumb to pinky tips) and I use a palm grip. Also, I prefer something on the heavy side (I liked the weights in the Sidewinder mouse).

I don't want wireless if I can help it.

I have been using a trackball this year (kensington orbit) and am getting back into gaming with some FPS stuff, so I got the logitech M570 trackball (thumb-ball with fingers on the L/R click) but I'm not quite as quick as I ever was with a mouse. Smaller mice give me wrist pain, and my Sidewinder broke after 5 years of faithful service (internal supports for the wheel broke) and I would buy another, but they are discontinued and ~$150 when I find them.

Any help is appreciated!!

this going to sound ridiculous but trust me. Get a Microsoft 'intellimouse optical' from ebay. they are counterfeit because MS stopped making them but still better quality than 90% of mice out there.

Best mouse ever made. Ambidextrous, great for office & gaming. Ive been using this type of mouse since 2001. ive tried them all and nothing comes close to it.

Comfortable, no extra dodgy drivers required. Ive reached up to top 150 of world of tanks server with millions of users. CS gamers rank it god tier.

so you know, id trust this counterfeit more than MS real new mice. theyve really slipped. Years ago it was just MS or logitech. Now theres a whole heap of junk.

Best current production mice is Mionix. have a look at the Naos. i bought the avior but went back to trusty intellimouse. ive spent $100s looking for the right one.

I'm less concerned about "quality" and more concerned about fit. I know the "answer" is to go to a store and test them, but that's not a possibility for me, so I need to go by what other people with similar hand sizes find comfortable. Of course the track-ball is most comfortable, anyone who switches to one for any period of time agrees, but it would take me 20 years to be able to game with one, so I'll use the mouse only for gaming, that's fine. Still looking for a mouse that has a body with a similar shape to the MS Sidewinder (that is NOT the shape of the "intellimouse optical" though, quite different, much larger).

thats the propblem i had , trying to find the right fit. Thats the primary thing. i was extolling its quality because they are counterfeit. A lot of people with large hands love the intellimouse, including me. Ambidextrous, palm or crab grip. large back/forward buttons so no cramping of thumb to press buttons.

as i said , ive spent hundreds trying to find a suitable replacement for the intellimouse. try for a day then off to eBay or restocking it goes.

Again, try the NAOS mionix or the intellimouse for $20 approx on ebay. both are the highest rated ergonomic mice ever. for large hands
