Best Gaming Router

So I have At&t as a service provider I started with 12mb and they continued to decrease my bandwidth until it hit 700 kbs sadness I know finally I finished my gaming rig and it's taking 14 hours to download 4gbs and the only router I have is the one AT&T provided I can't gaming with slow networking so could someone provide a Gaming Router that can do wireless and at least get 450mbs. my budget is 180

There is not such thing as a gaming router. I have worked for a cable service provider for over 3 years and I can tell you that Internet technology provided by cable companies is incredibly behind the curb especially trying to do anything other than simply streaming or browsing over a wireless signal is darn near impossible wait times.

Get away from wireless gaming complete and get a hard plug in. Doesn't matter if you need the cable tech to come to your home and run a darn ethernet line to the router but wireless gaming or downloading of ny sort is pointless wirelessly. There are also modems that are Doc3.0 modems designed for higher internet speeds. Try getting one of those that complies with the cable service providers in your area. Honestly I have Comcast with their 50Mbps Internet hard connected to my router which is connected to a Doc3.0 modem.

When it comes to gaming high internet speeds and hard connections are the only way to go even for downloading large files anything like 50MB or higher will hurt your time. Do you know the difference between MB (megabyte) and Mb (megabit)? Its huge it would take like 8Mb to make 1MB roughly. Honestly I wouldn't even bother with AT&T if thats the best they can do. I pay $75 a month for Internet only I use no cable or phone services.

My internet is all that matters in my house my fam uses a iMac wirelessly to stream while I still maintain a decent connection to my games for online play. Consider my 50Mbps simply 5.96MB worth of internet speed according to my conversion which is always right.

Now consider your speed which is probably less than 1MB of data being transfered per second and you're trying to download 4GB worth which 1GB is 1000 times larger than 1MB while 1MB is 1 million Bytes and 1 Byte is like 8 times larger than 1 bit! It could take hours if not a whole day to download 4GB maybe depending on how internet traffic is maybe even plural as in days!

I highly recommend googling and learnng as much as humanely possible about internet data conversion and speed and such thing like that it will help you immensely. But a new router will do absolutely nothing without a better internet package from your ISP and a hard connection!

I completely agree with "The Kasafist" ... there is no such a thing as Gaming Routers in reality , however as an E-Retailer working in the field for the past 5 years, I can tell you that based on the feedbacks I have received from more than 1500 customers all across US, your first choice should be hard wiring and if you can not then try doing research on different routers. For instance as of May 2016 one of the best routers out there is ASUS. I have had bad luck with Netgear specially when the customers is from the Mid-West (I honestly don't know why).
