Hello,

Recently I'm running out of storage on my PC, and I need an external HDD to store some of my documents, code projects and other files. I also do a bit of video editing. I'm thinking to get a 2TB drive.

The question is, I'm confused which company should I trust. I've heard a lot of complains about WD hard drives. Which external HDD would fit for my usage?

Also, I already have a 2TB 3.5 inch internal HDD, and was wondering if I could get an HDD enclosure and then plug it in via an USB port. Would it work that way, or it would need more power to operate?

USB enclosures vary. Some require external power. Some can run off of a proper Type-C port that also provides power.

I think an external SSD is the way to go for 2TB as well. No chance of mechanical damage from moving it around.

That said, 4-8TB hard drives aren't that pricey.
