Best gpu for 1080p gaming

A lot of people say it's the GTX 1060....which I think is pretty true in most cases.
Although I have had the GTX 1060 not make 60 fps on ultra 1080p in certain games....but pretty near...like never below 40 fps.

So I would say to be safe, in all cases.....a GTX 1070....or I think for sure an RTX 2060.

Ultra quality is pointless at 1080p.
It's also pointless in general since some graphic settings won't show any improvement in visual quality at any resolution and definitely not 1080p when you go beyond a certain level of setting.

But for most new AAA titles at high preset a 1070/1070ti or 2060 will do just fine at more than 60fps.

On AMD side of things an RX 580.

In the US, the choice would be between the GTX 1060 6GB and the RX 580 8GB. They're pretty much neck and neck (the RX580 might have a very slight edge). These are both considered the "high or max details at 1080p averaging 60fps" cards.

The RX580 is a 185W card vs the GTX 1060's 120W, though.

In the US, the RX580 is typically available for substantially less than the GTX 1060.
