Best GPU for a Vostro 230

Hey there. I have been looking to upgrade my computer for a while, and wanted to start by amping up the graphics. Unfortunately, last time I tried, I bought the Radeon R7770 GHz edition, but it ended up bottlenecking my CPU, and giving me a BSOD whenever I tried pushing it. I would love to play with this card, but after searching for hours on end, I cannot find a way to. I was wondering what Graphics Card would be a good alternative to the 7770 and could be run to play games like Black Ops 1/2 on good or medium settings with an optimal FPS (without bottlenecking of course). Currently my specs are:

CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
GPU: Radeon HD 5450 512mb
PSU: 650w

650 watt power supply? The Nvida 750 TI is a pretty good candidate. (the 7770 should have worked with no errors). The 750 TI doesn't require much power (450 watt or better i do believe).

(The Vostro 230 came with a 300 watt, so i'm assuming you upgraded the power supply.)

I upgraded the ram as well to 8GB thinking that was the problem with the 7770. I bought Black Ops one on Steam, and it was unplayable. For the PSU, I have bought an Antec 500w ATX12V for the 6-pin adapter.

I did upgrade the PSU and it was a 500w, not 650 sorry. I am still wondering what was wrong with the 7770 though?

They can go faulty/dead. If another card works, then check the 7770 in another PC.
