If you are going to upgrade your CPU I would skip the i3 and go straight to the i5. With an i5 you should be able to use a 380 or just about any other GPU without bottleknecking.

Technically you can use a 380 with your current processor. The problem is that a lot of modern games will max out your CPU and limit your framerate even if your GPU is only at 50% usage.

Edit: I would actually go with the i5-4590 though. It's currently on sale for $180 on Amazon which is about the same price as what I am seeing a i5-4460 going for and its a little bit faster...

nvidia and other sources do claim that the 960 is 60% faster than the 660. my friend seems to think so in gaming but for video editing and rendering its all the same

Thanks for your help dude is it true the 380 nitro is much better than the gtx 960?

I don't know about much better. I have never used either card but the general consensus on this website seems to be that the 380 is the better choice. The benchmarks I see for most games show both cards in the same general framerate range though.
