[SOLVED] Best gpu for i5-3570

Hi, I have i5-3570 cpu. I want to upgrade my gtx 750. Can you suggest me a gpu with works %100 fine with my cpu. I dont want to upgrade my system after that GPU. It means strongest gpu for i5-3570. I will upgrade my PSU if it needed. My psu has 420W btw. Thanks

I have a i5-3570k (non overclocked, so basically the same CPU as you) and runs a 60 Hz monitor as well. I just bought a GTX 1660 ti OC and I'm quite happy with it (it is suppose to be the "future proof" card for 60 fps gaming at the moment, although there is no such thing as future proof).

It depends very much of the title of the game if you will see a bottleneck on your CPU or not. Most first-person-shooter don't really see a bottleneck on the CPU but I do see it on titles like GTA V Online and Elder Scrolls Online, where MMO traffic hits the CPU a bit harder.
With a i5-3570 + gt1660 ti OC 6 gb I see around
45-75 fps in GTA V Online
45-100 FPS in Elder Scrolls Online
(graphics on highest settings in both cases)

If you are perhaps planning to upgrade to a 1440p monitor you want to go with GTX 1660ti or equivalent. GTX 1650 is probably good enough as a buff if you stay with the current setup.

EDIT: Just realized you PSU is only 420W. GTX 1660 ti is recommended to use 450W.

You could also save a few bucks going with 1660 super instead of the ti version (if you upgrade the PSU)

As far as I know, the 1650 SUPER hasn't actually been released quite yet, and I believe even the reviews may still be a few days off. I do suspect it would be a safer bet for a 420 watt PSU than an RX 580 though, since it will probably draw almost half the power under load. Unless it's a 420 watt PSU of particularly high-quality, you would probably want a PSU upgrade for anything faster than that.

420w doesn't sound remotely like something that is going to be a quality unit. For a more budget friendly option, I would say a Corsair CX550m, or 650m if the price is close.

Hi thanks for long reply. I will stay with 1080p for my setup. I dont want any bottleneck more than %5 or smth close to it. Also I can buy a new PSU too. For 1080p isn't it 1660ti too much powerful haha

If you are not going to upgrade the PSU I don't think you can go with th GTX 1660 since it needs a 8-pin connector. As far as I could tell your PSU only have one 6-pin connector.

About the GTX1660 ti OC being overkill only time will tell. A bit overhead is good for future gaming for 1080p but my CPU will probably need to be changed at some point. It really do depends on the game title these days.

what specific model of thermaltake 420w? it sounds like it might be a cheap generic unit they use in their cases, which would be a problem and destroy your computer. Otherwise a 1050ti is a safer option for lower power usage.

I think I will wait for GTX 1650 SUPER nvidia says it needs only 350W and that card has 100 TDP. Doesn't need any pin from power supply too. I hope my PSU will be fine because the card doesnt even need power pin lol

Per Nvidia it requires a 6-pin connection.

Your probably better off getting a decent PSU such as the CXM 450/550W then getting that 1650 Super when you have the money.
